Oklahoma Govenor Mary Fallen rejects health-care exchange

States Announce Exchange Plans

The State of Oklahoma was the latest state to notify the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) of its intent to establish a state-based exchange, enter into a state-federal partnership, or leave it to the federal government. In an announcement Monday, Governor Mary Fallin stated that Oklahoma will not pursue a state-based exchange under the Affordable Care Act.  Gov. Mary Fallen: “I can’t print money, unlike the federal government. I have to balance our budget. I have to live within our means.”

She also says no to the expansion of Medicaid under the federal act. Read more…
